PLAN FOR & IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE TEACHING & LEARNING
Each lesson I plan and implement is based and set around achievable learning goals I expect the students to achieve. It is through these goals that I then work to create fun, creative lessons that are taught based on the student’s needs and using a range of teaching strategies. It is important that students are aware of their expectations and learning goals for each lesson. To communicate the lesson goals I will use a range of communication skills including; writing on the white board, through a powerpoint presentation (as seen in the image on the left), or verbally. |
I am extremely passionate about the outdoors and believe that it is a great way to foster a range of teaching styles. Teaching styles such as guided discovery and injury based learning I believe best represent my preferred teaching styles. However, I also acknowledge that my teaching style is strongly influenced by the group of students I am teaching.
Students need to be given the opportunity to make mistakes. Mistakes result in learning and the best way to achieve that is to allow students to have control over elements of their learning.
Images: The images below are examples of students partaking in guided discovery and injury based learning.
