During my time at Lyndale Secondary College I was constantly engaging in professional learning. Every Monday and Thursday after school I would participate in the staff meetings which would go anywhere from 1-1.5 hours in duration. We covered a range of topics including:
-Revisiting of current assessments
-Changes in protocols
-Changes in the running of school CAT's
-Creating learning sequences
-Working with troubled students
-Creating lessons that include numeracy and literacy

Below is a document created during one of the professional development meetings. The document was created as a result of troubles that were faced during the recent year 8 CAT on illicit drugs. As I was responsible for the distribution and marking of one of the year 8 classes CAT's, my thoughts and feelings towards changes that should be considered were taken very seriously and added into the document.

Improving Practices
I believe that every individual has something they can teach someone, but more importantly are always continually learning. As a beginner teacher I believe this is especially important for me. Everyday I learn something new, from learning new things about myself, classroom management, organisation, lesson and content development, communication and teaching styles. By building relationships with experienced teachers, I strive to collect ideas and increase my content and pedagogical knowledge. I take on constructive criticism and utilise this to become the best teacher I can possibly be.
